Helmsley Pool Update
If you are a regular Pool user of visit it only occasionally you may well be aware of the traumas the Pool has had to contend with over the years. Very little funding; a site regeneration plan which did not happen; old and antiquated equipment; poor changing/shower facilities;...I could go one but I am sure you get the picture.

In 2012 we needed to do dome work on the fabric of the pool, re-tiling after the winter frosts; plant and machinery refurbishment; re-filling the pool after the re-tiling... again I could go on. 

So we started early to get the jobs done and yes you've guessed it the heavens opened and virtually stopped the work. So it is no mean feat and with some degree of pride and thanks to a lot of people, mainly volunteers that we can declare the Pool open in 2012. We sincerely hope you will visit. 

Why are we mentioning this?  Well although the water quality is very good to excellent and temperature is a pretty constant at 28 C and the staff trained and polite the rest of the facility is in a run down condition.  We offer no shower facilities, it will cost approximately £12K to improve our water supply to provide showers, and the changing rooms whilst clean are very tired. 

So please bear all the above in mind before making plans to visit us. We love our Pool and are working hard to keep it and improve it but like everything today it takes time.
